Method

From document request to closing letter

Our custom engagement page walks through how Harbor Ledger Assurance conducts audits for fintech firms — the sequence finance teams actually experience, not a generic project framework.

Sequence

Six stages every engagement follows

  1. Intake & conflict check

You send entity details, rails in use, and any known float issues. We confirm independence and propose a fee band before any fieldwork begins.

  2. Document request

A dated list covers bank statements, processor settlement files, fee schedules, chart of accounts for float and suspense, and prior findings if any.

  3. Population lock

Settlement populations are defined by timestamp and rail. You approve the population before sampling starts so later debates stay about findings, not file versions.

  4. Sample testing

Each sample is traced instruction → processor report → bank movement → ledger posting. Exceptions are logged with evidence references the day they appear.

  5. Management review draft

You see draft findings before the letter is finalized. Factual corrections are welcome; severity ratings stay with the engagement lead.

  6. Closing & archive

The signed letter, sample worksheets, and remediation owner list are delivered. Working papers stay archived under our retention schedule.

Preparation

What shortens fieldwork

Engagements run cleaner when finance can point to a single owner for each float account and when processor files arrive with settlement IDs intact. Holiday calendars for Taiwan banking days belong in the first document drop — they explain more breaks than most teams expect.

If you are mid-raise or mid-filing, tell us the hard date in the intake form. We will either fit the calendar or decline rather than compress testing below a defensible sample.
